PROJECT-DRIVEN SKETCHBOOKS

Pen and Ink, 2025.
Sketchbook pages from my most recent project, a Sci-Fi adaptation of the Arabian Nights (the finals are up on the ‘Sequential Work’ page).
Work from the Endellion Shakespeare festival, for which I made several finals (found on the ‘Prints’ page) which will be exhibited this summer.
The opposite pages explores the look of Titania and Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, incorporating the forms of insects and animals into their design. Below are pages of compositional refinement, dress studies and poses for Demetrious and Lysander.
NATIVE AMERICAN GRAPHIC NOVEL PROJECT (2024).
A page of character designs (the finals are up on the ‘Sequential Work’ page). Adapting the existing artistic traditions of the Kwakwaka’wakw tribes to my style, along with other relevant inspirations I could find.
RETRO-FUTURISTIC FASHION PROJECT (2024).
Designs from a collaborative project last year, exploring retro-futuristic fashion. My idea was futuristic Renaissance. The drawing on the left is retro-future Venice.
DRAGONFLY MIGRATION PROJECT (2024).
Studies of India’s Red Fort, for a project imagining a future in which humans follow enormous mutant dragonflies on an annual migration from Louisiana to Delhi.
‘THE EDGE’ PROJECT (2025).
A university-led project, in which students work with lecturers as clients to a vague brief - a single image, in set dimensions, interpreting the prompt ‘the edge’. It’s been published in a book of the same name.
My idea was a ship, clearly from the era of steam power, discovering a mysterious ancient civilization. It explores the ‘edge’ between different eras and cultures, in the vein of Jules Verne. This is a set of pages refining composition for the second round of roughs.
